In the pic is my 550 Dsl. I have $3100 for entire pkg. deal. Deal had the tractor, a trailer and 6 ft. box blade. If I deduct $400 for the box blade and $600 for the trailer the tractor cost me $2100. The rig needed tires and some other help when I first got it and I have approx. $1000 into it now. I have not regretted my purchase yet. It now starts reliably and I also changed out the generator in favor of an alternator. Price ranges I have seen are $2000-$4200. I would not give more than $3000 for one in good shape.

Alot can be said for higher prices of fully restored rigs and I am not one to say what they are or are not worth. While the money be invested into them I see it hard to recover that cost, not including the labor investment. IMHO I think the higher price is due to collectors.

Mine is now torn down for long overdue transmission clutch replacement. It will also be getting some other TLC. Check out the link to the article for more details. That PTO leak would be cause for concern and may be a talking point to negotiate purchase price. The extra rims and tires are a bonus. Any implements? That could also sweeten the deal.

The bottom line is to pay what you think is a reasonable price. I will say that Oliver parts are hard to come by in FL, I end up getting most of mine from out of state. I am located in Sanderson, FL (west of Jax). Drop me a line if I can be of any other assistance.

Any thing less than 3500 sounds like a steal if it's what you describe.

That sounds like a great machine. There is a fellow who will most likely post you a price and he lives in Florida. I would think that 550 is in excellent shape and would be anywhere from $3000 and UP! ( and I would expect UP)

Super 55 is correct. Around here it's UP! Local dealer has a 1974 550, gas, with swinging drawbar, pretty good tires, all lights missing, needing paint, lots of play in the steering, no muffler, and a cracked grill. He claims it runs. All for $4250.

The Hall price gives the range of 1600(poor condition) to 3500(premium) There is one 550 advertised in a TN trader for $4499 and it is late model gas and all original. Another trader lists a S55D that has been restored for $3300. There is a sharp S55D on ebay and the current bid is approx. $2500(reserve not met) I gave $3250 for a nice 550G original. I would not offer much over $3500.
