Hey guys, Found a nice 2255 MFWD with fender tanks and with out a cab. I was wondering if they made cabs for them or if you could fabricate one to fit. Thanks. JLC

I would be interested in the fender fuel tanks if you decide change out your unit. Distance would be the only factor. Email me if you are interested.

Yes, Oliver put a cab on the 2255, and in fact they put them on most all the 2255 tractors. You could get a cab off any 2255 that has one and put it right on. Or if you want a nicer cab, you can get one off of a later model white tractor and do a little modification and have a soundguard cab on the tractor.

Good luck

Hey Shep, Watch that jd jargon around here :-)! Those guys might get upset with you calling a White cab a soundguard. WB.

I guess that is a JD term, OOpppsss my mistake.

I think of any cab that you cant see daylight through the door cracks and that blocks more noise than it amplifies as a sound- guard type cab. But you are right a true soundguard is a JD cab.

Gosh, I cant believe I just used a JD term to describe something, where are my manners indeed.

I'll let it pass this time! It's easy to see how the jd owners get hooked when a die-hard Oliver Man unknowingly uses their terms. WB.

I was looking at the Moline you have. A friend of mine's son has a green G-1355. It still has the original paint. I thought yours would be green. Now I have a dumb question? Why do all these guys want to drive these average horse power tractors that you have? I will let you know we sold more 1650-55's and the same for the 17 series than any other sizes but we sold 20 & 2150's after the price thing and my neighbor just went by with his 2255 and a manue spreader. Sorry no cab on that one

Mr. Schiebert,

My reason for drooling is that Olivers are few and far between and Molines are practically nonexistent in my area. Along with Shep's tillage tools. Not many chisel plows or field cultivators around either. Being a novice, any chance to look at, talk about or use Olivers is a treat for me. Plus I'd love to hear that big 585ci Moline roar!!!!! ":^)

From what I have learned the G-1355 was both a Moline that was Yellow and an Oliver that was green, same tractor different paint. It was also a 2270 White that was red in color. I think they were all built togeather, just painted different colors for different parts of the country. I think the most popular of the three color schemes was the Oliver decaled tractor painted green, I have a neighbor that has one like that too.

There are no dumb questions.....

I think the reason most people like to play with my Olivers is that most of them have now been repowered with 5.9L Cummins engines and as you can imagine they behave quite differently than the stock tractors would. My one 1655 still has the 283 Waukesha, but the other one has a non turboed 360 cummins engine running about 87 HP. That tractor is quite different to run than the stock one. Even the big 2150 MFWD has a large 360 Cummins engine turning almost 200HP with a large tork value. There is no comparison between that 2001 Cummins engine that is now in it and the old 478 Hurk that came out. The tractor now has a lot more power and reliability than it ever did and is drinking half the fuel, so it makes a lot more modern tractor.

Plus most of them have newer paint jobs and lots of neat add ons like front fenders and canopys. They do turn a few heads.

Just my guess....
