I've got spark at the points on my 552 but none at the plugs. I've switched the cap and rotor to another machine and they work fine. This all started when I robbed the cap for another tractor. When I put it back together I had no spark. It ran fine before I took the cap off the first time and now nothing. Any one have a diagnosis?

2-44 Was a model designation which meant 2 wheel drive 44 engine horsepower It was a White thing. Some of them are (were ) also painted more of a green color similar to a Euclid. The 2-44 and the 552 have four speeds forward and in reverse. They are a nice forklift. There is also a 2-62 which is a 1550 engine and one with a slant six Chrysler called a 2-63 if I remember correctly. You can also find some Harlo fork lifts with Oliver running gears as well as the later ones with John Deere units. Then there are older units on 770 frames that are Lull units.
And maybe others.

We got it running. A different coil made no difference. Different points didn't do it either but the second new condensor made it fire right up. The 1st one was bad right out of the box. It was as a last resort that we changed it again and what a surprise when it fired up. Thanks for the help guys. I've been told that the 552 is the same as the 550 only reversed for the forklift.

I have a 550 and was wondering how the 552 and 551 differ from the 550 and the 2-44LL. In regards to your spark problem, I had a similar problem ( weak spark instead of NO spark) and I replaced the coil and I've had no problems since.

Center coil wire broken? Check with your DMM.

It could be a bad condenser or coil, but that would not explain why it happened when it did.I have seen the wire to the condenser get damaged when some one was in there and they don't realize they hurt it.
