I have an Oliver 66 Row crop gas. The metal at the base of the oil filter expanded due to pressure and began to leak. I changed the oil and put on a new Fram C253 oil filter. It blew the new oil filter base out as well which caused it to leak oil again around the rubber oil filter gasket. I seem to to 70 psi on the oil pressure guage on the dash. Wondering, what's the problem?

There is a good chance the restrictor in the base of the oil filter has come out and got stuck in the return hole this causes high oil preasure in the filter. The tube above the restrictor is most likely gone and will need to be replaced too.

If you are running 70psi it's a wonder the main seals haven't blown, should have 20psi. As sos puller said check the relief valve, I keep a spare oil pressure gauge with a 6" line to double check the dash mounted one. LOL
