Hello All:

I have a 1948 Cockshutt 30 with a rowcrop front end. Is it possible to swap out the front end for a regular front end? Specifically, can it be done by swaping parts as opposed to making parts. Has anyone done this before?

Jim, they are all interchangable and relativly easy to do. Basicly you unbolt pedastal from tub frame around the steering box. then open steering box and take large nut or snap ring off, depending on which one you have. then pick tractor up and slip apart. reassembly is basicly the same. email me if you need more info or need parts or have other questions. irv

Thanks for the info. Any suggestions on which front end I can or should use? I need to make the tractor more stable as I have very uneven land.

I am considering putting a snowplow on the front to use as a snowplow/dozer. Will that impact my selection of front ends?

Thanks in advance for any info...

Both the standard wide and the adjustable will do what you want. Standard wides are easy to find and about half the cost of the adjustable. Ihave standards to sell but no adjustables at this time. where are you at? I am in western PA email me directly if you wish to know more Irv
