How many horses does an 1800-A gas engine Oliver have?

I am assuming when you use the term 1800A you are talking about the 1800 model before the 1800 B . A book I have on Oliver tractors called a Guide to Hart-Parr. Olver and White Tractors by Larry Gay ( published by American Society of Ag Engineers copyright 1977 ) says on page 47 that the original 1800 model with gasoline engine developed maximum horsepower on draw bar of 63.71 and on pto of 73.92 . This book also says gasoline 1800 pulled maximum of 10,619 pounds on drawbar at 1960 Nebraska tests . The serial numbers for this model were 90 525 to 124 395 and the original " A" 1800 was made from 1960 to sometime in 1962 .

1800 A was a 265 cubic inch engine. They would average about 70 horsepower on the average on a good PTO dynometer. B series sleeves and pistons will make it a 283 cubic inch engine and will up the horse power to 75. The 1800 A series set a record for fuel ecomony. Personally the 283 cubic inch gas engine when tuned up is a good gas engine.
