Hi there,

I have found a vintage Oliver tractor toy, and I'm trying to figure out what it's worth. It looks like it is cast aluminum (I think) and it looks kinda like a 70, and it is green. It has a cast man, but he appears to be made out of a different material, more like real cast iron maybe.

What all companies made toys like this, that look like a 70? I'm sure it's vintage but don't know what I should be willing to pay for it. Any ideas?

Thanks,

BW

Hello, I have a toy Oliver tractor that matches your description very closely. I have had it as long as I can remember and I am 65 years young. I also have a 70RC that my father bought new about 4 months after I was born. The toy tractor is very durable, the rear wheels were mounted on an axle that gradually wore through the rubber tires so I replaced it with stove bolts on each wheel. It is cast in two pieces, split along the center and held together with a rivet through the engine area. Unless you are very rich mine is not for sale. You mentioned it might be aluminum cast, I doubt as I'm almost sure aluminum casting before WWII would be unsual.
