First of all, I can always remember whether an engine has been worked on ANY tractor that I have ever owned. I may not remember exactly "when", but I don't forget altogether. I would wait to hear the machine run prior to trading my money for it. I have a 1755. It's a dandy tractor, but your 6,000 hour opportunity reflects plenty of work hours completed - for any tractor. Good luck.

WADE Thanks for the tip .The reason the fellow didn"t know about any engine work was he bought it 3 yrs ago at a dealer without even asking any questions and never cared for good green machinery TP

I had the same problem with my 1655 hydraulics. The problem was 1) water in the reservoir. Created bubbles and air in line. 2) The relief valve had dirt and was bad. The valve is very sensitive to dirt. As a result, I had intermittent 3 point, and ps. Drained hydraulic oil sveral times, and put in new relief valve, tractor has been good sense.
