If your distributor is so expensive to rebuilt or if its hard to find replacement parts, maybe you should look for an electronic ignition upgrade. No matter if the shaft is moving, the magnetic pick up will do the job. Go to Pertronix.com and check it out.
If your distributor model # is not listed, call them and ask, they will find it for you. I did on our Super 55 and it works great!

It all depends. If it's a Holley you're screwed. No parts are available and therefore no one rebuilds them. AGCO will sell you a replacement made by Mallory for $350.

If it's a Delco, any NAPA store will have a rebuilt. You must have the tag # to match it up.
