Long 770 ride

I just got back from taking my 770 on roughly 260 miles of driving. This was in SE Iowa on the Great Eastern Iowa Tractorcade. Roughly 450 tractors participated and Oliver had a good showing with some very nice machines. The 770 only came down with one symptom of a leaky axle seal but that's pretty common. I saw around 5 other 770s and about the same # of 880s. If some of you are on here, nice showing.

Wow--that sure would have been something to see! Imagine 450 tractors pulling out of a truck stop! That must have been great fun.

How many days was the trip broken up into? Was rear tire wear very noticable? Fronts(7.50x16 and smaller) are cheap enough to allow as a 'consumable' on a trip like that, but not rears!

The trip was broken up into 3 days. The tractors were broken up into 7 speed groups and released in intervals so as not to get one group or the other slowed down which still happened anyway from time to time. The biggest group was around 80 or so tractors. It was a lot of fun. The rear tire wear wasn't too bad at all. I can see some wear but nothing like I thought it would be. I don't know how much it took off but it wasn't that much at all. We pissed off a few driver's but most locals were very interested and just stopped and watched. When we rolled into our overnight layovers It was about 3 hours of tractors coming in from beginning to end. If you have a chance to do it I would. It's a good way to meet other great people.
