Got my tractor home and took it down the road. Seemed like the engine killed and it stopped abrputly in 6th gear. Started right up and all the gears worked, even 6th. Will do this only in 6th. Is this electrical or machanical? Guy who sold it to me forgot to tell me of this problem I guess. Still worth the money.

I'd replace the t/fd filter and fluid and make certain that hyd fluid is not leaking into it from the pump.

First of all does it do it in any other gear? Since 6th is a high range gear, I would suspect the bushing in the low range gear if you do not have the pump conversion kit. Did you check the oil. 1800 A& B models have seperate compartments for the transmission and final drive. There is not much oil in that front compartment. Remember when you are in any of the high range gears your low range gear is spinning faster than engine speed. You may want to take the transmission cover all and look in there. Check oil level first.
