I found this add in the ND regional farm mag.

1855 OLIVER Cummins 5.9 L, 115hp, re-power kit eng., used very little, runs great - $5000. Will sell complete or just the engine. 715-257-7798.

I saw the ad and tried to call in the same day the paper came out since it was in my area. Couldn't get through, but did the next day. Already sold. Asked the seller why he was selling it. He stated that he had a problem with hydraulic oil getting into the rear end along with some other minor items. He also liked his Case/IH that he had just got. Too bad I missed this one, with my other 9 ollies, it would have been and reasonable repower and parts tractor. Seems to me he priced it based on what a dealer would pay.

The guy takes a $5,000 tractor, puts a $10,000 engine in it, uses it very little, and then sells it for $5,000. Hmm.

What the heck are you talking about?? The 1900 for sale on Ebay does not say anything about a $10,000 engine and the opening bid is not $5000. Have you found another one somewhere?

It has been widely reported in this group by people who have actually done the Cummins repower that the total bill approaches $10,000.

The original post states a $5,000 asking price and says nothing about ebay.

That's correct, this was a local farm newspaper ad and the individual lives in my area. Same area code. Nothing was ever on ebay

Sounds like the engine conversion was not done very well, to say they will just sell the engine after all that work.
