On my 1960 770, I have my remote hydraulics coming out of the right side of the pump. It works as double action, and works fine. The left side is not hooked up, but seems to be only single action. (I'm not sure, but I never tried it yet). Is there a way to change these over to double action inside? And, if so, how difficult, and what must I do? Also, I have a "clunk" in the rear end that I notice the most in 5th or 6th gear under load. I bought the tractor this way; bought it cheap. Is there a notable problem with these rear ends? I really can't say that it's wheel speed, but it could be. Do they have bearing problems or weak ring gears? Just trying to get an idea before I tear the top off. Thanks for your help. John, Ohio.

John, as Mr. Schwiebert said, the hydraulics on your 770 are double action on the inside. It's all just a matter of how it is plumbed on the outside. An I&T manual has good drawings ant text covering this. If you don't have one, drop me an e-mail with your mailing address. oleblu

It is double acting on the inside. To make it single acting there needs to be a third fitting and a different restrictor. It is not a bad job on a 770 to take the bull gear cover off. If you take the hydraulic off too remember the PTO shaft must be removed first as it goes through the hydraulic pump
