How can one tell a 77 from a Super 77? Friend asked me to find out. Seller told him it was Super and that there is a great difference.

Supers have areas on the side frame where you can bolt on to as well as attachment pipe holes through the frame non supers only have the pipe holes.

The 77 has side engine panels that completly cover the engine. The super 77 series did not have this feature. Also, the super had more piston displacement and more HP plus no red wheels.

Serial number tags are on the transmission case untill the sumer of 1952. After that the serial number plate was moved to the dash.1953 and 1954model 77's are easy to tell. Just turn the first two numbers of the serial number around. The Super 77 was introduced late in 1954.1957 model Supers have key start (12 volt gas), the word Oliver is stamped in the fenders and the battery box cover is held on with 4 screws. They also had red wheels. A 77 or a Super 77 is a very trouble free tractor.

narrow front, hydraulics and 55% tires.I was wonderin what you guys thought it was worth? My book says $1530 in avg. condition.I figured about $1500.It was originally his dad's tractor until he passed away.It has well maitained. He has a few other olivers but I think this is the only one he'd part with.Any thoughts would be appreciated.
