There's an ad in the June 2003 FARM COLLECTOR magazine for GAS TANK RENU. out of Eden Prairie, Mn. Has anyone used this product? If so what success(or lack of) did you have? Also cost, ease of use,etc. I have a 1955 with a very slow leak from the main tank that I have JB Welded, but it still leaks. If there are any other leak fixing products or repair methods that work, I would appreciate hearing about. Thanks.

I used to repair fuel tanks and radiators. The best repair is to solder it. It the leak is at a seam you should look for a replacement. Internal coatings work good if the tank is cleaned first. It helps to eliminate corrosion in the fuel and tank, but the leaks must be repaired first. Drain the fuel and flush with water. Solder with a large solder iron. If possible, do a leak test with very low pressure (10-15 psi). Good luck.
