First you have to determine what year your 550
was made as there are two color schemes. Early
550s were totally Harvest Gold then in the 1961
production run the scheme changed to Harvest Gold
sheet metal and wheels with a Vermilion Red frame,
engine and axels. These were called Red Bellies.
The paint color codes can be found at the club
site www.cockshutt.com

Sorry Irv. She does have an Oliver built 550. It was produced in late summer, early fall of 1964. The 50 series Oliver start at 147,000 and they were introduced in the fall of 64. It is a red and cream tractor.

Barb, the tractor that you are talking about is a Charles City built 550 that was built in 1964, not the Canadian produced 550. The basic tractor was painted red as it came to the end of the assembly line. The hood, grill, air intake stack, fenders and wheels were painted ivory and then bolted to the tractor. If you wish, I will scan the literature for the tractor and email it to you.

The # you gave me are apparently engine numbers! Look on the tub frame rail about 6 inches in front of rear motor mount on left side! You may have to scratch paint but there will be a # starting with 2 letters. this is the tractor serial # and the letters will tell me the year.
The # will start with a Bm, Bn, Bo, Bp, or Br followed by 4 diggits. Give me this # and I will be able to help you. It may be easier if you email me directly but thats up to you! Irv

Sorry for the confusion. Now that we know which tractor you have. The others posting about it are correct. But if you still need help I'll see what I can do. [email protected] Irv

Sorry Irv. She has an Oliver built 550. It was manufactured in the late summer of 1964. It is a red and white tractor. It is a utility type tractor, not as rowcrop like the Cockshutt Branfort built 550
