i know 1850 has a 354 perkins. what motor is in a 1855, is it a 310 waukesha? going to go look at one in a field. friend said he thought it was 1850 or 1855.just was wondering thanks

The 310 Waukesha used in the early 1855s had a number of problems that have been discussed off and on on this web site in the past . These problems could cause engine failure . On later model 1855s , Oliver(White ) did some updates on this engine that improved its performance and longevity a lot . If it is an 1855 I would try to get the serial number on tractor to check on date of manufature and whether the original engine had improvements . Others that post on this site frequently can tell you what the updates were and about when they were made .

Going to go look at it this weekend.Not sure what it is yet. I haven't seen the tractor yet. But my friend saw and wants me to take a look.He said he thought it was a 1850 or 1855. But i'll get the serial number and check on the site and find out what year and i'll get back with ya.THanks a bunch fellows. Vern in texas proud owner of 1650 diesel.

I have both an 1850D and an 1855D (with engine uodates). I have been well pleased with both tractors .

the Ollie 1855 has the 98 (Diesel), (92 gas) PTO horsepower, wet-sleeve 310 Waukesha.
