I am considering selling my Cockshutt 1850.
It has a Perkins 6 cyl diesel (smokes a bit)
spare engine, extra water pumps, flywheel, pressure plate, etc. It also has a front end loader, continental cab and shop manuals.
The model # is 285-42009 and serial # is 170234-427.
Can anyone tell me what year this is and what is a fair asking price? Thanks...Tim

Don't sell yourself short. That extra engine is worth a goodly sum alone. What about selling it on this site, or sell off the parts on ebay?
You may be surprised... good luck to you on your sale.

Oh, I'd say a round number would be around $2,000-3,000 dollars. I guess it depends on the other things, like quality of the hydraulic pump yet, how good the loader is, sheet metal, stuff on the like. That number should get you in the ballpark on a fair price. My thoughts anyways....

The dealers ask for $3000-$3500 and they will go out the door for $2800-$3000 in used running condition. The loader adds $500, and the extra parts $2-300. I'd be asking $4000 and expect $3500 or so.

I just sold an 1850 and an IH 806 to a scrap yard and was offered $5250 for the pair, I dont know if it will help, but I thought I would put my two cents in anyway.
