Is it possible to change the cam on an Oliver 77 gas without turning the engine upside down??? I have a tractor that needs a cam but I dont want to pull the engine.... How do you keep the lifters up to pull the cam??? Thanks in advance!!

I have done it this way, you have to be carefull.
Remove the rocker arm shaft w/ rockers, take 3 or 4 rubber bands and wrap them to hold each pair of push rods together, spark plugs out, roll the engine two full revolutions to push lifers up, sideways tension on the push rods will hold the lifters while you R&R the camshaft. Good Luck

I have used dowel wood driven into the lifters, with a clothes pin to hold them up. I don't remember the size just have to measure the bottom of the push rod.
