Bad day for the 1855

A couple of days ago i was finishing with the 1855/1850 hybrid i bought. Got done in one feild and went to shift into 5 to come in to the house. ANd low and behold no high range in the trans. Maybe it s like the old girls i thought, that like to jump the shifting lever out of the rails. Wiggled it and all got it back in to the low side. Drove it in and decide to pull the lever. Could see the high low fork setting at a angle on the sliding gear. Bent is what i hoped, but after removeing the tramns cover found out its broke clean off where its welded together. A quick fix or a timely one. I decide since i need to get it going i am going to weld it in the tractor alot faster then pulling the motor to remove a shifting rail to get the fork out. Then i will eyeball it and see if i can reinforce it to make it stronger. Just hate the thought of have to reconnect all them hyd lines. Enough rambleing for now must go milk the cows. OH by the way the cows here in southern wisconsin are half ducks now. Got another good hard rain last night. at least i can get the tractor fixed

just remember bob, its the nature of the business. Farming isnt always easy, its rarely easy. Glad to hear you still drive Oliver though, and hope the waters go down again soon. regards, j meyer
