Finally got a picture of the 1655 Cummins tractor outside the shop the other day. Thought I would share it with you guys, so far it is running good and is a real joy to drive. I still have a few small things to do, like a new air stack and I still have to work on the fenders a little, but it seems like a good tractor so far. Enjoy

You do some FANTASTIC work. Wish I had more time to get on with some of my projects. Thanks for sharing. Nice touch with the Cummins logo also.

Hey I will send you some rain if you want it. I am getting ready to hook the pontoon boat to the corn planter this week so we can get the corn in the ground. That new MM with rice tires might come in handy, wonder what the market for rice is doing now, might have to call uncle ben and see if I can sell him some rice.

I think we missed the worst of the storm, but it was rough here for a while. Im not used to tornadoes around here.

That was kinda scary.... We went down in the basement and rooted through the freezer for about an hour last Friday. We saw a funnel cloud toward Verona and the wind blew about 100MPH with rain there for about 20 minutes, but nothing was hurt. We got about an inch and a half in about 20 minutes in that storm. Finished knocking down what little barly we had standing and blew water from one end to the other in the shop, but nothing was hurt.

Told dad looked like we were in OK or something, were not used to tornadoes around here. I think some of the counties south and east of us got HUGE hail out of the storm that really pounded some of them. Lots of the state is still without power from the stormes. We never lost power, but I dont see how, the lines were just swirling in the wind.

Hey Shep, Good looking unit there. So that's where you've been. I would ask when you are going to finish up all your tractors so you can come do mine...but you just get something else and go on that. Like the looks of your new MM too. How does that compare hp wise to the Olivers? BTW the 1850 seems like a good unit. Thanks for your help so far.

The MM is supposed to have 150 Hp with no turbo. Im not sure if it can get that kinda HP or not, I need to get it hooked to something big and see. It has a huge 585ci engine with no turbo and only turns 2000 RPM at the max. Big slow running engine.

Have it set to 87 Hp on the pto according to the dyno. I think that is enough for that tractor considering the huge tork output of that engine. I do miss the turbo that the other Cummins engines have though.....

Nice looking unit!! Which Cummins and year did you use. We have a 1755 in our area, used new 5.9,can't remember what year on the engine, I think the engine was bought new. $8000 for the complete job. I still run a 1850,Perkins,and 1855 with engine up dated by White. I,m curious as to your clutch set up? Have a friend with a 5.7 GM out of car in a 1750. Left auto trans. from car in to pull slow for a field tiling operation.It looks pretty neat. Can't say much for the 5.7 tho! Sounds like you have some interesting projects!!! jps

Went with a 5.9L Cummins with no turbo. It was a little hot to start with but we calmed the engine down a little and it is running good. Got this engine out of a black and white case tractor 11?? something model I think. It only had 1500 hours or so on it so it is still like new.

Put a clutch in it from a White american 80 and it bolted right up, no problem.

Should have one of those in my 1855, Cummins wanted $16000 for a "C" engine to put in my White 4-210. I think a hopped up 5.9 might work! Some guys are running the 5.9 up to 300 to 450 hp but don't know how long they will last that hot. Talk later Shep, gota go sell some soybeans.You sure have a good looking tractor!!!! jps

I have a 5.9L Cummins running up at 210Hp with no problems. I would think you could put a big 5.9L up to 250HP to 300HP without any trouble or go to an 8.3L engine. I thought about putting an 8.3L in my 2150 Oliver, but found a hot 5.9L instead. Sure makes a good tractor when you are done.

Selling bean seed I hope, wouldnt think you are harvesting yet..... ..

Looks just excellent Shep:) I bet that has just gobs of torque. How much horsepower do you have at the PTO??? My old boss has a 3.9 in his 2-70 White and that had 80 horse. Looking good there:) Thanks for sharing your pictures too!!!

I had her on the dyno and it had just over 100HP but it was blowing way too much black smoke so we turned the fuel down to 87Hp on the PTO and it is running clean at that. That is plenty of Hp for that tractor with all that extra tork. So far it has come out of the shop and run flawless.
