Oliver Super 55 (Gas) Tune-Up Help Needed

More items to check for:

1. Spark plug gap should be .025" as you mentioned you used .030" . I could be wrong.

2. Make sure your gas line is completely clean from debris. From the tank, through out your sediment bowl (take your sediment bowl assy off your tank and check) to the bottom of your carb. Use the carb adjustment in the article when the engine is warm and not cold.

3. Hopefully some one will have governor adjustments for your Super 55.

1) Get the owner's manual
2) Study everything before you do it.
3) Don't get in a hurry. For example, replacing plug wires is no big deal, but I'd replace them one at a time so you don't mess up the firing order. That will ruin your whole day.
4) Do one thing at a time. On other words, replace the plugs, gapped per the manual, then start it. And do on. The reason is that if you replace everything and then it won't start, you'll have no clue where to even start looking for the problem.

I know these are very basic things but you'll find tractors easy to tune-up. Unlike modern cars/trucks where you have to be a midget with the dexterity of a brain surgeon and a degree in computers, everything on a tractor is right at eye level, easy to see, easy to get to.
