It is a 1550. I've read on here where the 1650 is better but it is a 1550. It has around 2900 hrs, on it. It has a Freeman loader with a trip bucket. It comes with what looks to be a 10 ft. wheel disc and a 3 bottom plow, both still have amazingly good paint and good decals to be implements. I guess they have spent most of their life inside with the tractor. All the guages seem to work on the tractor. It has new batteries, good tires, and no damage to sheet metal or anything else for that matter. It sets there, not under load, and revs and idles fine without smoking. The tractor belongs to the widow of a retired farmer who has finally decided to sell it. The asking price is $7000 with no offer made yet. I've read the negatives on the 1550 but should I pass it by when all I want it for is to restore as a hobby.

1550's bring from $2500-$5000. If the 2900 hours are original, and tractor in good shape... Add another $1000 for the loader, though I dont think a trip bucket would be all that popular. The wheel disc and plow maybe $600

1550's are good tractors if used as a chore tractor. We use one in the hayfields and it has been good to and for us. We only fuel it once a year and mow over 50 acres twice with it. I would not accept $5000 for mine! Good luck.

way, way too high.

start at $3000 and move up.

if i were buying it i wouldn't go a dime over $5000, and it'd have to be mint condition at that.

Why don't you just go to the classified adds
for YT and check out what a good running older
Oliver goes for. I don't think you'll buy that particular 1550 unless she cuts the price in half.
But make an offer and see what happens.

My friend has a very good running 1650 diesel for sale. It has the utility front end. Cranks extremely well in winter. His name is Glenn Wilmouth, his number is (336) 427-5572, he is located in NC. He does not have internet.

Mr. Burnett~ I'd say that thats a pretty high price to be paying for a 1550, but it seems like all older tractor values are going up now days. It would have to be a cherry to make me interested at 5k though, so thats my thoughts...then again, I try to get stuff cheaper too, but still 7,000 is very high.

The asking price of the tractor with a trip bucket loader and two pieces of equipment seems mighty steep. If you try to sell the plow, disc, and loader you might be lucky enough to get $750-$800 leaving you with over $6000 in a $3500 tractor. Thats my free advise, and worth every penny of it. LOL Make a counter offer. oleblu

I bought a 1550 last September from Ollie Schafer
for $3400.00 and feel I got a great deal. The tractor only needed PTO clutches replaced. I am very pleased with the tractor and dealing with Mr. Schaefer.
