I have an Oliver 1655 in excellent shape with great rubber, paint and decals, runs like a top. However, I was asking $5,500 for it. I did not think that was out of line. I need some guidence to see if I am dreaming or not asking this money for this diesel tractor. I have more than that into it and just do not use the tractor any more. Am I out of line or what should be the correct price for a low hour tractor like this. One of the best I have seen in a while. Any opinions are welcome.

Don't take a dime less! Let the tight wad Bastards cry. I hate dealing with them. A new tractor of same size 35g+. Sold my 67 1550d mint cond. for 7500+ an old JD B. Hang on.

Very well said! And how many of those new $35K tractors are going to be working 35 years from now like my 1650 is?

There's one at the local JD dealer that they are asking $7,500 for. It looks to be in average condition and hours.

It sounds like you have a deal sitting there Dave, you just gotta find the right person to purchase your tractor. Someone in MN or Wisconsin should come along and buy that tractor and let it play in the fields yet, because thats where it belongs:)

Can't say about your mental condition but I can tell you the tractor is priced way too low! In the upper midwest that's a $7,000 tractor in average condition; yours may be worth quite a bit more. Let me suggest you join HPOCA, advertise it the magazine, or at least send a photo and description to all the local chapter presidents in your part of the country. When the right person learns about it being for sale, he will show up with a trailer and a fistful of cash.

Ollie,

Thank you for your help. I thought it was strange I did not get any bites on it. I have $6600 into it but I never knew the market for it. I am just hoping to break even on it. It has 1318 hours and 18.4 x 34 rears 75% and fronts 95%. She is a nice one. I hope some one may want to buy it. The tractor is in WI so at least it is close to the midwest and trucking won't be too much trouble.

1655 Olivers are worth twice what you have to pay for them, especially the diesels. A John Deere dealer in Iowa had one advertised for $7900; the next week it was gone. I really think you are low, but then I get carried away about things that I really like.

Dave,
I wouldn't think that $5,500 would be out of line at all. I've actually seen ones like yours bring more. Keep trying.
