Your 2255 should have a rotating switch to the left side of the steering column.
First stop = panel light, head light, light illuminated front flood & rear flood.
Second stop = panel light, head light, light illuminated front flood & rear tail & warning.
Third stop = panel light, light illuminated front flood & rear tail & warning. "use second stop for high beam or bright and third stop low beam or "dim" when driving on roads or highways"
From 2255 Op Manual.

These are the 1850 switch positions. I'm pretty sure the 1750 is the same.

1. OFF

2. First stop (clockwise): Gauge lights only.

3. Second stop: Gauge lights, Head light, Front Flood light, Rear Flood light.

4. Third stop: Gauge lights, Head light, Front Flood light, Tail and Warning lights.

5. Forth stop: Gauge lights, Front Flood light, Tail and Warning lights.

The forth stop is supposed to be low beam for highway travel at night.

The rear auxiliary electrical connector has power whenever the Flood lights are on.

Hope this helps,

Myron KY

Is this also the setup for the 2255?

Greg, I don't have a 55 series tractor to go by, but I'll take a stab at it. Looking at the wiring diagram but not knowing the internal poles and throws of the switch, parts of it is guess work.

OFF

First Position: Gauge lights, Front head lights (lights in grill)

Second position: Gauge lights, Front head lights, Rear flood light.

Third position: Gauge lights, Front head lights, Rear Flood light, Front flood lights (lights in fenders)

Forth position: Gauge lights, Red tail light, Flashing warning lights, (Not sure which front lights are on Head, Flood or both.)

That's my guess, so please don't take it as gospel. You can order the owners, service and parts manuals here on YTMag. The owners manual will tell you the correct function for the switch positions.

Hope this was of some help.
