Does anyone have any experience with working on the valve that controls the three point hitch arms on a 2255? I recently bought one and the three point will not lower. Someone said it is a valve located just under the seat of the tractor. The remote hydraulics work and the pump is good. Any help would be appreciated.

Loosen the hose going to one of the cylinders so that it drops down. Then start the tractor if it raises the arms without moving the 3pt lever It could be draft control related. One item to check would be the draft control linkage on the left side pull the link pin out of the clevis (turnbuckle) and allow linkage to center. If the arms will then lower and raise it might be out of adjustment. Make sure you get the serial number off the tractor if you ever need parts there is a break for different 2255's

Have you had a load on the 3PH? If the the 3PH has not been used in some time it may be stuck. I would put some weights or something on the hitch and loosen or remove the hoses going to the external cylinders and see if the hitch will go down. WB.

I have had the weight of an 1850 front end loader on it with the front of the 1850 picked up off the ground.
