Hello,
The 1750 I have been working on for a friend is getting closer to being painted every day. He decided that he would like to go with DuPont paint now but we don't know how to match the paint with the tractor. Is there a paint code or does anyone know what it would be for clover white, Oliver green, and silver for DuPont? Also, if there is, what hardener and thinner is recommended to use for this brand? Thanks

Luke,
The 019 and 030 codes are for plane old synthetic enamal. You ain't gonna find them, end of story, end of subject. And if you should find it...RUN! You don't want that stuff when there are so many better products available.

The newer Dupont coades are all 4 digit. The green used on Olivers is 1317. I have bought gallons of the stuff over the last 2 years.

If your local Dupont dealer doesn't have the formula for the Clover white, he can call Dupont and request their newest mixing catalog for Agricultural and Industrial Equipment. It is free for the asking.

While waiting for the catalog to arrive, you can ask the lady in charge of that department and she can give them the mixing formula over the phone. We talked with her 2 years ago and she flat knew what she was talking about.

Luke, the info I have is Oliver Green Dupont # 019 or 030. Make sure you look at a chip before you have it mixed. I suspect you'll spend $40 + per qt to have it done in Dupont. I do not have a Dupont code number for Clover White. The number for Martin Senour is 90G-3822 or Ditzler 8229. I am looking at a can of AGCO Clover White I picked up at my dealer. It is enamel Clover White 79014806 and was $14.90/qt. I am planning to use synthetic reducer from NAPA callled Synthol. It is a bit expen$ive @ $25/gal but it is what the dealer suggests I use. NAPA suggested two different hardners. 1 @ $12/pt and the other is the synthol match @ $33/pt. Since I am not doing a showpiece this time, I'll probably opt for the economy hardner. The reducer will be used at about 1:4 parts paint so the gallon will go a long way. I will also pick up some cheaper reducer for cleaning the gun which by the way, am told will need to be about 40# at the gun for a suction type gun. I have not broken down to buy a gravity feed gun yet but that is more critical if you are shooting metalics. Earlier posts I have read indicate that painting is about 90% prep and 10% application and I agree. Watch your pressure, humidity, air temps and don't skimp on the primer. I am using a rust inhibitive primer and praying it is compatable with the AGCO paint. Hope that helps
