I have the brake drums off my Cockshutt 30 and both of them have grooves wore in them from the metal retainer on the oil seal. Has anyone come up with a good inexpensive repair? I also noticed that one of the large o-rings was pinched and needs to be replaced. Does antone know of a source for the o-rings?

Hello Jerry,

I've been trying to get the brakes drums off my 1948 Cockshutt (has a 2.5 inch bearing cap I think), but no luck so far. These turn off in the regular CCW direction, don't they?

Thanks for any info on this.

Leroy

I did my brakes on the 30 last year. I had a fiend turn the shaft down. He had to make a cone to hold the inside of the taper spline and I used a smaller i.d. seal. Good luck Tom
