On my Oliver 1450, there is a small switch on the dash with a flip-up cover plate on it. Anyone know what this switch does?

Check the two terminals on the switch. One of them should be hot either with the key on or off. Trace the other wire to see where it goes. Is the switch spring loaded? Where is the switch on the dash? The diesel tractors have three switches. One for lights, one key ignition, and one spring loaded that releases when you let it go for the engine preheater. Is there a light or two that does not work when your lights are on? Light flashing road lights you may not want on during normal field operation? As of late I haven't heard of driver eject seats on these tractors so trying it can't be too dangerous. :)

I think it is the glow plug preheater switch.I have a factory service manual for a 1450 with wiring diagram if you are interested that is in nice shape.
