hi all, i hope as usual you guys can help me me with this problem i have with my 1655,hydraulic pressure,it started last year with the remote cylinder,it would'nt go up or down when you pushed the lever ahead or back ,you had to keep playing with it too get it where you wanted the cylinder position to be ,and finally it got there with enough tries,so anyway this year i installed a front end loader, hooked up to the power beyond ports, as alot of youse said too do,and so did the dealer, anyway italso has a joystick on the loader valve, open centre that is also,so when i pull back the lever to raise the loader,it goes up about one half inch ,then super slow after that, the more you rev the tractor it goes a bit more faster,it goes down fine,so i put a pressure gauge in the drain port,up front near the filter on the left side sitting on the tractor, and i pulled the joystick back as if to raise the loader, and the pressure went to 1200 then 1300 then 1500 it;s really jumpy, the power steering works fine, one time the pressure actually went to 2000 and the loader raised just like it;s supposed to do,but that was it,so i took the hydraulic housing off and got the pump checked out at a reputable pump facility, they said the pump is fine,please...now after all that, what do you guys think could be the problem, if the pump is fine,,,what else could i check, any idea's would help,,,

Keith, Don't know if this helps but had an Oliver combine that the header got slow on lifting. I changed the fluid and filter but didn't help. Pulled the pump and had it checked. It came back checking OK. Pulled my hair out trying to figure it out. Finally went and bought a new pump. Problem solved. Seamed the old pump would develop 2200 psi but couldn't move enought volume to maintain preasure when spool valve opened. It did have enough for power steering and variable speed but not enough to lift header.I hope this is not your problem as pumps are $$$ but after you've checked everything else out you might keep this in mind.

You should test/check the flow divider.turn the steering all the way one direction and see if the loader works better or if preasure is better. The flow divider is on the left side outside of the houseing. They can get sticky and allow too much oil to through the steering or bypass.look for missing orings on the main line from the pump to the houseing.

I'd try changing the hydraulic fluid and filter, if you haven't already. Next I'd check the Pressure Relief Valve. Relief pressure should be 2000-2100 psi. Sounds like it needs cleaning or adjustment. Tractors prior to Serial number 221295-000 had a relief valve that could be adjusted with shims. Each 0.010 shim would change pressure about 75 psi. At serial number 221295-000 a Pilot Relief Valve was used. According to the manual it is set at 2000 psi at the factory and cleaning/adjustment is not recommended. The screen, cartridge and O-ring should be replaced. I'd try cleaning it anyway. My 2
