I have a line on an 1850 w/o motor, I have a 2-105 White with a trashed hydraulic system. I like everything in front of the trans. on the 2-105 but can't warm up to the 2-105 hydraulic system, brakes, PTO clutch control, external lift cylinders,"closed" system,etc.etc. Has anybody tried to mate the front frame from a 2-105 to a a 1850 trans???. I looks like the two speed 1850 hydro might bolt to the perkins bell housing, And MAYBE?? the input to the 1850 trans. might be set up for the three speed 2-105 hydro.????

First let me say I agree with you totally, I much prefer the way the 1850 runs and operates over my 1855 with all the closed center hydraulics, so I can understand why you want to do this.

Yes if you have both tractors this conversion can be done. There are going to be some places where it is not all going to line up and you are going to have to modify. I would keep the three speed off the White and replace the tail housing from the 1850 to make the chain coupler fit on to the White three speed. As you know the White has a trunion mount and the Oliver has a chain coupler, the trunion is much preferred but you may have to get into the transmissions to do that and thats not really worth it. The perkins bellhousings are all the same in case you want to change the two speed over. The White frame should bolt up to the Oliver rear end, but the frame is going to be different and you are going to have problems with the sheet metal. The big white grill of the 1850 will likely not bolt up to the white frame without some drilling and I think the radiator and engine area is larger on a white so the hood and side panels from the Oliver may have trouble fitting on.

It sounds like a neat conversion and I would be interested to see how you get along with it.

Good luck

Shep, the way I read it, he has a Hydra-Power in the 1850. The rear housing on a Hydra-power will not interchange with the Over/Under. He didn't say if the 1850 was a gas or diesel either. I think the 105 has a similar frame to the 1850, it just has an extension on the front for the grill. WB.

Good points WB, sometimes my mind gets to thinking before I finish reading. Thanks

If you are useing the the white frame and engine then you need to use the white raditator and sheet metal.
