Is an Oliver model 82 sickle bar mower worth anything at all? its in good shape just needs the wooden pittman stick, I think it bolts right to the drawbar of the tractor, it has 2 solid rubber wheels on the rear of it. Thank you, Ross Boots

I purchased a Model 82 last year at a local farm sale for $75.00. It was shed kept in good shape. I mow about 5 to 7 acres a cutting for horse hay. The 82 did a good job but it took a little time getting use to. I bolted it on to the drawbar ( that can be challenging by yourself) of my Farmall 350 (no 3 pt. hitch). Later in the season I bought a International 2A hay conditioner to crush with. I can hook it to the 82 if I want. No need for a more expense haybine. I'm having trouble finding a new complete knife for it at Tractor Supply and other farm stores. With all the rain now in Central Pa. I'm not in a real big hurry to hook up and mow. Keep it if you're using it to cut hay or trim pastures (not good for banks). Good luck.

The model 82 is a newer version of the 22B and 22A. I purchased a 22B (Green, not red as the A model) for $120 last fall. I obtained a parts book that even gave pictures of attachments to put it on other makes of tractors. I am sure an Oliver collector nearby would probably give that. Good luck.

The old sickle bar mowers don't seem to have much value beyond scrap in my area- especially so if not a 3 point. Only thing might be to find a collector with the model tractor it was built for- but even then its tough, because most guys want an implement to restore and put on the tractor to take to shows, and a mower is just too dangerous for that purpose.
