Oliver and Hesston bailers info needed

I have been looking at a Hesston 4500 bailer it seams to have the same tieing heads and needels as
a Oliver Roto feed . Did Oliver build these bailers for Hesston ? are they any good ? it seams to have a lot of capacity by the way it looks anyway, any info would be apreciated. Thanks Bryan

Mark is correct. The dealer I was the parts manager for had been Oliver dealers since the 30's and had Hesston from the mid 60's till they closed in the 90's. The Hesston 4500 and the Oliver 720 are twins. The Hesston 4600 though is a different animal. Knotters look the same but parts won't interchange.

I've owned a Hesston 4500 since 1981,have used it every season baling around 10,000 bales per year. Very reliable,few problems, large capacity, same as oliver. Used to have an oliver 620,got the 4500 cause I wanted a thrower. I believe that hesston bought the oliver baler line wich is why the similarity, to my knowledge parts are still available through agco. Need any more info please e-mail me.

There are only two main types of twine tying mechanisms, Internation Harvester and the Deering style which is what everyone else uses. I had an Oliver 50T baler, jd 224, and now a Deutz-Farh and they all have the same basic setup on the knotter. WB.
