There are 3 fuses on the dase. Which fuse controls what circuits And what amps/volts should be used

The copy of the operator's manual that I have and the electrical print in the 1850 service manual indicate the left hand fuse (viewed from the driver's seat looking toward the front of the tractor) is a 3 amp fuse for the lights in the instrument panel , the middle fuse is a 20 amp fuse for the tractor lights in the fenders (both front and rear lights ) and the right hand fuse is a 30 amp fuse for the hydra electric remotes if the tractor was equipped with them .

The instrument light is just for the guages, if you take it out the gauges will not work. The dash lights are conected directly to the light switch and runs off the same fuse as the headlights.

I do not disagree with what Don says . I did not study the electrical print that closely . What Don says makes sense though because , if I recall correctly on my 1850 , the first position on the light switch turns on the dash lights only and nothing else . It makes sense from a standpoint of simplifying the wiring that , if the dash lights are turned off and on by the light switch , you would go through the fuse for the lights to get power to the light switch and thus get power for dash lights as well . With that in mind , the correct statement on fuses should be first fuse (3 amp) runs gauges , second fuse (20 amp ) is for lights and third fuse (30amp) is for electric depth stop for the hydraulic remotes if tractor was so equipped .
