Tried filling the hydraulic reservoir today with no luck. Drained almost 5 gallons from the large plug on rear. What are the possible causes of the fluid loss?

I just had and fixed this problem recently on an Oliver 1555 . Assuming the 1900 C is set up like my 1850 and 1555 , the possible causes are : (1) hole in the hydraulic oil pan allowing fluid to leak directly into the rear end of the tractor ; (2) front seal in hydraulic pump gone bad . I discovered this was my problem on the Oliver 1555 . The bad seal allowed hydraulic fluid to leak out through front of the pump , down the gear that drives the pump , into gear oil in the transmission and then into the rear end through a hole in the wall that divides the transmission from the rear end . Agco has a seal rebuild kit for the 1555 pump which I got a local shop to install so maybe they have one for 1900C . (3)bad gaskets at front of oil pan would allow fluid to leak from pan into transmission and then into rear end . Given the volume you are talking about it seems like a hole in the pan to me since it sounds like you are losing all or almost all of your fluid into the rear end . On 2 and 3 the fluid would leak down until the pan still has about 2 gallons or so of hydraulic fluid in the bottom of the pan and then stop .

I just fixed one this week (I hope) that had two cracks in the hydraulic pan and was letting fluid leak through into the rear end. It was not going in as fast as yours but that can happen too. Its not a hard problem to fix just takes time.

Also could be front hyd. pump seal. Pump pressure test should tell you if that is the culprit.

I think also theirs a rod that controls your draft control that goes through a seal in the hydraulic oil pan under the deck if it is like a 1800 it could be leaking.

probably a cracked hyd pump housing, caused by a stuck relief valve
