550 Distributor??

I got new points, cap, and rotor for my 1974 gas 550, but they don't fit. The new parts match whats in the parts breakdown, but not whats on the tractor. The old points had a bent tab with a plastic insert to hold the back end of the spring, and a brass pivot point through a brown fiber cylinder where the spring turns. The pionts are the same height and size as the right parts. The old cap and rotor are a little bigger than what I got at Korve's, and are held on by two flathead screws into the distributor (versus spring clamps needed for the new 550 cap). Can anybody tell me what model the distributor came off of? It must have been an Oliver four cylinder. The paint on it looks like original harvest green, and the way the throat of the distributor clamps to the engine is just like my parts book. I thought maybe just the points mounting plate was changed, but then the 550 cap would fit. Also looked for Delco numbers on the distributor without success. I jury rigged half the new points onto the old ones (don't ask!), to get it running, but don't dare go too far from the shop with it.
Really need to get the right parts for the distributor I have to make it run smooth and strong. Can anyone tell me what this distributor came off? Thanks, Clay

Thanks for the help everyone. Mike KY, Your info was dead-on. NAPA is only open til noon here so had to visit AutoZone. They had all three in-stock for about $12 plus tax. I've already written the part numbers in my manual for next time.
Can anyone use the clip-on cap and it's rotor? I used the condenser and "modifed" the points already so can't return everything as a set. Reach me by email to work-out details.
Thanks again...especially after my longwinded description.

Can't say for sure about your 550 but Oliver used several different Delco and Holley distributors on some models. The Holley especially is getting hard to get parts for (I get mine at NAPA or AGCO) so some people have swapped in different distributors. All distributors used to have a ID plate on them but if your's does not all I can suggest is to take all the parts off yours to NAPA and see if they can match them up. Oh yea, be sitting down when they tell you how much they cost!
