Will a 1650 engine bolt into a 88 frame without to much work? THanks

Unless my memory fails me, I believe it is direct drop in replacement.

The engine will fit in without any problems. We have on in our 88 diesel. I would go with the 310 with a few more cubes than the 283 out of the 1655

What is the diff. between the 283 and the 310? is it just the bore or is the block diff. Thanks.

The stroke of the crank. The 283 is a 4.00 inch stroke and the 310 is a 4.38 stroke. Either or can be switched around. Basically the same block except for the Turboed 310s which had the oil cooler on the right side cast into the block.
