O.K. here's a description of how my hydraulics are working with a remote cylinder on a bush hog. First, the cylinder lifts well when at full throttle, but is very slow or will not lift completely when RPMs are low. Is this normal? Second, When I release the lever after lifting, the cylinder will not hold completely- leaks down very quickly at least part way. Third, when I lower the cylinder, it falls very quickly and hard no matter how slowly I try to engage the lever. My 3-pt and power steering seem to work fine. Can someone help me out with how the system should work and what problems I may have such as a weak pump, stuck valves or both, or something else. Thanks.

Robert,
The problem with the remote cilander may be an internal leak, if it is a bouble acting cylinder the oil can leak past the piston if the O rings are bad. If you have another cylinder you could try that.
The problem with the fast drop of the implament is probably the restrictor valve. this valve is used to control the flow of return oil from the line supporting the implement. I dont know where it is on your 1650 but on a White 2-70 it is on each side of the seat ( one for each remote) and has a cap over a screw, you remove the cap and advust the screw ( clockwise to restrict the flow of oil when you are lowering an implement. Be careful not to restrict the flow to much or the relife valve will buzz.
