880 oil pressure

What is the oil pressure for 880 oliver running wide open. I put on oil pressure gauge fron napa 0 to 100 psi and it reads 10 to 15 psi. Oil pressure light works and ever comes on when running. Is that ok. thanks Bill

The Fleetline shop manual from Oliver, states that oil pressure is 10 PSI at low idle & 12 to 15 PSI at rated speed for the 880. Not much pressure, however they were all that way and ran good.

The 'IT' manual says 'correct pressure is 14-18 pounds at high idle speed; I would assume this is where the relief valve opens

that's all I can find

In my IT manual 14-18 psi at high idle is the spec. So your 880 is ok even though it looks to be low on such a high range gauge.

that kind of pressure is to low!! i dont have a book infront of me so i'm not sure what normal operating pressure i would think should be between 30 and 50 psi i would think!! I beleive the oil light is kind of like a warning light when the oil pressure drops below a certain point it comes on!
