I need new tires. My 1850 has an underslung axle.
Most of the 1850s I see have that forward sitting axle. My info doen't list the tire size. Are they all the same size? Thanks-

I have 10X16's on my 1855, the back has 18.4X34. She sits a slightly nose up but not bad at all. Actually I think the worn out ones these replaced were 11X16 since they were wider then these but I couldn't read the numbers (worn off). My 1655 has 9.5X15 and she really sits slightly nose down--course the backs are 18.4X34.

I'm running 9.50Lx15's on my 1650 with no problem and when I was at the local Oliver shop they had several 1850 and 1950's with 11x15 and they looked good. You could see one of them evidently rubbed the spindle bad, but it appeared to be a front wheel bearing out. Since I removed the 6x16's off mine I don't tear the place up as bad and I haven't buried the front end one time yet. The little 6" wide tires dug real bad in soft soil. I can actually use my loader now.

If you are still wondering about the 11L-16's, I have always seen 11L-15's on the front of larger Olivers, never any 16" rims other than the smaller Olivers w/ 7.50-16's. or other similar size. I believe that the rims on my 1600 w/ 7.50's on are 4", maybe 4 1/2", I'm not sure. My 1755 has 11L-15's, 10" rims.

7.50s are not really designed to be mounted on 4 or 4 1/2 rims. I used to have 6.00s on 4 1/2" rims on my MF & upgraded to 7.50's on 6" rims. If you do mount to the smaller rim you may run into issues rubbing the spindle due to the offset being different on the rims.

Hi Don. I have three 1850's, and two of them have factory 10x16 rims. Can the steering arms on the top of the spindles be changed so that an 11.00x16 will clear?

I would think so, I recall that they are just splined on the top, similar to a 540 pto shaft, and I would think you can just move them in no problem.

I think you will find that if you move the steering arms from the original factory position, you will change the steering geometry. This means the tires will not turn the correct angle relative to one another and you will get a lot of sliding. It may be something you will put up with, however.
