That message on the other page got me to thinking about the idea of replacing the chain couplers in my 1850 and 1855 with a trunion coupler like the 2150 has. Has anyone ever done this and it is possible. I have a Cummins engine in both of these tractors with the Perkins frame so I think I can slide the engine far enough foward to unhook the trunion, but my question is what do you have to do with the transmission input shaft??? You suppose you have to replace that shaft in the transmission or will the trunion mount up on the existing transmission input shaft??? Also I guess you have to get a different tail for the three speed with the trunion on it. I think it would be worth looking at, I am not a big fan of those chains, but they do offer a weak link for those Cummins engines. I was thinking the next time I had to pull one of those engines out I might look into this. Just some rambling thoughts....

Do you still have that 354 Perkins engine kicking around some where? I need the #3 conn rod. (I know they are all the same, but I want to put a #3 back in it.)

Yeah I have all the connecting rods still. I need to check and see if they are Ok. E-mail me sometime and I will check and locate it.

Worked on a 105white with perkins same rear end as a 1855 it had a trunion coupler looks like you would have to change imput shaft to transmission to make it work.
