My 1955 needs something done to its worn seat. Do any of you know anything about the seats available on this website ? I have been looking for seat deals for several months, and these are the only ones I have found that say they use a steel backing. I don't think I want a wooden backed seat. Any info would be appreciated.

call y&f cushions at the yoder and frey sale lot in archbold, oh. they will accept most anything you need recovered, on metal, wood, or ann will ship woodbacked replacements, and UPS it to your door. they take plastic $ too. i have been very happy with all(12-15) the seats they have done for me over the last 10 years. y&f cushions 1-800-364-2870. ask for ann in the cushion shop. only one problem; don't call there the second tuesday of the month, as that is sale day, and the front desk is too busy to answer the phone quickly. good luck ron

I have been using the Kodiak seats from Tractor Supply for my last few seats I have put on. I used to get OEM seats from AgCo or even some from Superior seating but they were real pricy and the AgCo ones were still wooden backed, and they dont last. Seems like the OEM seats tear real bad too, anyone else had that problem?? There is another place on the web tractorseats.com or something like that, they sell seats too. The Kodiak seats from TSC are steel backed, have a good back on them and armrests and you can drill a few holes in the seat itself and not modify the tractor so you can put the OEM seat back on if you want to. They are about $90 instead of $160 for both parts of the origional. I like to try to keep the Olivers origional, but when you ride in them all day and use them it doesnt hurt to upgrade.

I have the original pan type seat on my 1650. The metal base was in perfect shape but the upholstery and padding rotted away. I looked at what was available as replacements and finally decided to have an upholstery shop make new padding from high-density polyurethane foam for both the seat and backrest and recover them with new seat material. It looks exactly like the factory seat and the total cost was only $100.

Ollie has it right, I bought an after market set for my 1900,( sells on this board about 175.00 I think ) it has wood base and did not fit correctly, it also will not allow the seat to be set back as far as the original making it hard to swing your leg around the front of the seat, ( non-power stearing )If you have the sheet metal get it recovered.
