Thinking about the discussion on coupler chains breaking and realized that I had not heard anyone talk about their 2150 or 2255 chains breaking. I have not looked at one of these--Do they use chains or some other kind of coupling?

They don't use the chain, it is a trunion mount.

I read in one of the posts that later 1855/1955s had 2-105 rear ends, is that correct? If so could the trunion coupler be adapted to the 1855/1955?

I would think it would be possible. You would however have to change the overdrive clutch piston carrier on the over/under to the one with the trunnion mount. The bearing holder for the input shaft of the trans. would have be change also. You would have to get a different gear to put on the over/under as well as a coupler. Might be money well spent. THe only problem that I can see, is that there might not be enough clearance between the frame and engine/torque to get things parallel to slide them together.
