This is probabily a stupid question, but how do you remove the oil pump in a 77? I have everything out of the block except that. It won't move at all. Thanks

According to my manual it just says, remove the cap screw holding the pump body to the crankcase mounting boss. Lift the pump from the engine. That's it.

I tried to turn it as I tried to pull it out. I had a 2' pipe wrench on it. I think it is probabily stuck in there.

Sometimes guys think that the pumps need to be sealed in,and use a gasket sealer on them.Might be whats holding yours.
