HELP... looking a radiator for an older 550 Oliver. CT Farm and Family pulled out last year and now there is no discount place around to buy parts. Does anyone know of an internet site for farm supplies or where I might be able to get a deal on an Oliver radiator ??

keep looking for a pro that will recore it. i had my 660 recored last year. reused the top and bottom tanks, new core and no leaks anymore!!!!! $220.00. 550 and 660 are the same motor i believe, so the radiator is very similar. one thing to remember about doing business locally is they do want your "return" business, and will work towards getting it. good luck

Replacement radiator cores are made in strips of verying widths and number of rows. When a radiator shop orders a replacement core all the supplier does is cut to length and soider on the right plate to match the top and bottom tanks. They make core stock to match allmost any thing ever made. If the shop you have it at wants more than $250.oo I would check around with other radiator shops, Its not that big of deal. Found my recite from my supper 55, last year I only paid $186.oo just like new should last another 40 plus years. Watch out as in any repair sevice bussiess there honest ones and shade ones.I live in southern part of Michagan and round here there are more dishonest than honest.

Before I plugged the leak on mine with Liquid Steel I measured the core (height, length, depth) plus the header (length and depth). From there I was checking the web for radiator shops that shipped nationally. Do web search on industrial radiator or just radiator. Link below is google search for 550 radiator.

I am sure you could find a new core very close in size then have your local guy assemble it for less than Agco. Just a thought. Best of luck and let us know how you made out.

Definetely get the radiator recored. Ask you radiator shop about a "Z" core. They angle the tubes so they have a little more strength since they don't flex as much. Might cost you an additional $15. I have recored a lot of radiators and I never regretted it even though it's not real cheap.

If the top and bottom are still useable, get it recored at a radiator shop. I had my supper 55 done for under 200.00 last year.The core is all that usaly goes bad

It's at a radiator shop now. They were unable to repair it, so he is going to call me Monday with a quote on recoring it. What scares me is that the local tractor dealer told me it would cost $$1,100.00 to replace it. And that was with a straight face. I checked the YT MAG site, but it doen't like like they carry Oliver radaitors. If any knows of a web site I can check, please let me know. Thanks.
