770 and 880 Production numbers

I was looking over the serial numbers for the 770 and 880 and was trying to find out how many were produced. Is there any way? I noticed some years it looked like only a few thousand were made and then over ten thousand some years just going by the number ranges ...is this correct?

Something else I just noticed....the starting serial number for all of the 3 digit models is very close for each year. Does this mean they all shared this block of numbers?In other words there can't be a 770 and 880 with the same serial numbers?For instance the starting serial number for all of the 3 digit models in 1959 is about 71000 and in 1960 it is around the 84500 mark. Does this mean they made about 13500 tractors all together (models 550-995) or did each model use this block of numbers that year because for each model the range is very similar.

Beginning in approximately 1955, Charles City produced tractors had serial numbers assigned in secquence regardless of model. As an example lets look at 1959 production. The first tractor built in 59 was a 770 with serial number 71 011. Lets say they built 234 770's, for this run thus the last one built was serial number 71 244 for that run (the plant called it a lot). The next tractor built was a 990. The 990 got next serial number or number 71 245 assigned to it. This was the method that was used through Charles City and Coldwater production. Of course there were more 770's built through the 1959 production in addition to the 234 built early in the year. There are no records that exist of how many of each model were built in each year.
