1650 hydraulics question

I have a 1650G with 3 point and dual remotes. I plan to install a loader with a remote 3 spool valve.

I have heard that the 1650 hydraulic system has power beyond capability. What would be the proper way to tie the loader circuit in to the system? Which ports should I use, and what type of valve should I get for the loader?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Scott Goff

Forgot to mention the valve. a 2 spool valve with float and open center would be the best one. I don't think the joy stick valve will work real well on this system, it might, but I haven't tried it.

Best of Luck.

Your loader will work much better if you get the hydraulics from the power beyond ports. I too hooked mine up from the remotes, against everyones advice. She did not perform very well. I moved it to the power beyond ports and it worked great.

Here is the info.

An External valve can be installed for operation of additional hydraulics. This valve must be of the "Open Center" type and will take priority over the other hydraulics. Remove the 1/2" plug from the front left corner of the hydraulic housing, after removing the 1/2 plug, install a 3/8 plug inside of that port (deep inside there are threads). Now install your pressure hose to your external valve in that same place you just removed the 1/2" plug(Front left corner). Now remove the plug at the top, rear, left corner. This will be the outlet of your external valve.

Caution - An open center valve "must" be used. When not using an external valve, those two hoses should be tied together. Explanation, pump pressure leaves the filter, goes to the external valve, then the returns pressure goes back to operate the rest of the hydraulics. Real simple to do, works well, however the ports aren't in the best place for routing hoses, but you'll figure out how to route them.

Hope this helps. May need a torch to heat the plugs slightly to get them out. Don't forget to remove the 3/8" plug if you do away with this system on go back to normal (if the need ever arises).

Would this advice also work for a 1955? It has a closed center system.

The 1950 is a totally different critter. Try posing a new question on the forum about the 1950 and I'm sure some of the pro's will help out. I'm suprised I was the only one to reply.

Sorry

I posted on Page 1 about the 1655 and the 1950 and a couple of folks replied. Hope that helps.

I have no idea about a 1655, however I heard it was a much simplier installation but I don't have the details, nor have I done it.

Sorry

The front plug is the pressure going to your valve (External valve inlet) and the rear plug is the return (External valve outlet or bypass).

Don't forget the little 3/8 flush plug that needs to be installed on the top front port.
