Are all the sheet metal parts interchangeable between a 770 and 880? I've noticed some 770 and 880 engine tins and rear tins have recessed areas where the stripe and oval decals (1958 models) are located and some don't. I suspect the recesses disappeared when the stripe and oval decal (like on a 1958 model) changed to a newer style. Is this correct? If so, what year did the recesses disappear on the 770's and 880's? Thanks.

Part numbers for all of the sheet metal for 770 & 880 is the same for early and late tractors with the exception of the hood. The change in sheet metal to eliminate the recess was made at S/N 112 251, which was in 1961. White Motor had purchased Oliver in 1960, The Keystone emblem was introduced to company personell in November of 1960 for the 61 selling season.

THe sheetmetal between the 880's and 770's won't interchange. The hood on the 880 would be longer than the 770 by a few inches
