I'm new to Oliver but thinking about buying one. Right now I'm thinking about a 1755. How do they differ from what I assume is a previous series the 1750. Tell me about the over and under 3 spd. trans. Is that like a high and low or more like the IH or MF torque amplification. What do I need to be aware of and what engine do they have? Thanks

Also since I have to show my ignorance to ever learn anything, somebody explain what the word Standard means as it relates to a tractor.

Standard means wide front end. I can't tell you much about 50 vs. 55 olivers.

Standard is a wide front that is not adjustable for width. Were very popular in the vast prairies of Canada, where everything was grain and you didn't care about adjusting tire spacing to fit corn or bean rows.
