I ordered 'American Rouge' red paint. Doesn't match my 1950 '77 red rims. I guess there is a 'south bend' red color. Do you know any dealers that stock this color - otherwise I have to purchase two quarts.

Is this paint Ok. I see everyone posts Martin Senyour numbers.

I use True Value Tractor Red. It seems to be a good paint and is nearly a perfect match for red wheels. Use some hardner to keep the color from fading. If any of you were at the HPOCA Winter Meeting in Effingham the S77 had tractor red on the wheels. Delbert

Steve,

I think the "American Rouge" red paint that you got was meant for White American Series that were painted Cockshutt red. I have been to dealers that have carried the American Series tractor colors for MM Gold, Cockshutt red, and (my favorite) Oliver green. Thses colors have a different shade to them and they ussally say (American Series) on the can.

Yes AGCO does make a South Bend red. I have used some to touch up my White 5400 plant-aire planter and my Dad's 6180 planter. The paint matched perfect.

Take a look at the red on a new white planter and see if that will match up for you.

The part # for South Bend red is 20-7002256.
I got my paint at Suchomski Equip. in Pinkeyville, IL. Their number is (618)336-5440.

Hope this helps.

Mike

yes, I bought the american red paint from Suchomski Equip. in Pinkeyville, IL. Not the right color paint, but seemed like real nice people to work with.

You wouldn't have a tractor to match up against, would you? Oh well, I'll look around for a planter.

Do you know if the south bend red matches the Martin Senyour number?

Thanks,
Steve

Honestly, I have never painted a fleetline to know which red looks right.

I am sure that someone on this board would know to help you out.

The part # I gave you was for arisol cans. The dealer I listed will know what South Bend red is, and will send you what you need in quarts.
